I try not to read a lot of interviews as it can spoil a story. So I read one 5 star and one 1 star. Everyone can read the same story and each have their pros and cons that is why I don't like writing reviews but I do and Its just my opinion. Book 2 was more exciting and so much going on so now I'm eager to start book 3 of this series. Each story has an epilogue which is great. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. I'm not big on westerns but these are easy reading and move right along. Enjoying! GAB

In general I liked both of these book's storylines and characters. However, "to the manor born" is not "manner", "counsel" is not "council", and "here" is not "hear". Better editing is necessary. Spacing was also off in the first book, which is where "here" is mistaken for "hear".
Read this book in a couple of hours, Fast paced, lots of dialogue, and kept my interest. Love stories about wagon trains going west, and the troubles and hardships that happens on their journey. Good clean romantic love story, with just enough sizzle for the imagination.
I enjoyed reading the Carrie White book. I'm interested in other books by her. Traveling by wagon train was interesting sounded hard, but I would have loved being on that experience. Life seemed simpliler, but hard and dangerous.
This book was easy to read but I had one problem with it. Ms. White is obviously someone who was born after 1970 because she mistakenly calls the leading lady Ms. instead of Miss. In the 1800's when this book is placed, no one even heard of the term "Ms." If you can get past that, it is a very good read, as all of her books are. It only took me two days to read the whole book because i just can't put them down. Once I start reading, I devour her books and you will, too.
A very special story of historical romance kindle book from at a special price. The story was very informative as well as unexpected events that took place on their travels to find a better place to live. The characters faced death from cholera, births along the way and friendships that turned to love. A must read for those who enjoy historical romance kindle books.
I've read dozens of these 1800s frontier romance novels and this has to be one of the best ones. It was the only one that was so sweet in one place it brought tears to my eyes. When Samuel nursed Paulina back to health, it just proved what a great man he was. This one was much better than the first, I sure wish it was longer.

I think it would be interesting to see a story based 20 years in the future. Laura's love story, and maybe the stories of her "cousins." With the sisters and their husbands ready to become grandparents after long happy lives together.
I like Paulina story, because she was willing to take an infant child that was not hers to raise as her own. Also the fact that Samuel was determined to keep her alive when she got sick, even though you're in the short time was very inspiring. They show that true love does not take years to happen, but can happen in a short period of time. It was a very inspiring story of a compassing success through adversity, such as a strong marriage bond, and of creating a family through trying times.
