The Last Heartbreak by HM Ward and Melanie Bussiere was absolutely amazing. It touched me beyond what I expected. This is a stand-alone novel that I will read again and again.

The Last Heartbreak is very emotional and deals with some difficult issues in a sensitive manner. I fell in love with Graham and Kienna and could feel the pull immediately. You don’t often find men like Graham and it was so refreshing. He wasn't a rich man, just a hard working who would do anything to care for the ones he loves. Kienna came from an insanely rich, but dysfunctional family. She didn’t let that stop her from her friendship with “the help”. Kienna couldn’t see the good in herself, but I sure could. These characters were real and relatable.

Be prepared to go on an emotional roller coaster. Your heart will break but it will heal. Along with the tears, there are many amazing laughs and touching moments that will heal your heart. So, be ready to laugh and cry both sad and happy tears. This is a very special book that is a 5 star must read! I definitely want HM Ward and Melanie Bussiere to team up again.

Last Heartbreak is a friends to lovers romance, but it is so much more than just another romance. It delves into the topics of mental illness and abuse in a very real and sensitive way. I can't wait to tell everyone I know about this book because it has left a lasting impression on me!

The characters were well developed, likable, and complex. Kienna is a wealthy heiress who is trapped in an abusive home. Graham is a hotel waiter. Their worlds collide when Kienna nearly falls off a ledge and Graham saves her. They strike up a friendship, but eventually it's apparent that they could be something more. Do they dare act on their feelings when their worlds are so different?

I was already a fan of HM Ward's books, but this is my first book by Melanie Bussière. I am totally blown away! The plot was riveting and suspenseful. It was nearly impossible to put down! Days later, I still find myself thinking about the characters and everything they went through. This book will stick with me for a long time to come, and I can't wait to see what Melanie Bussière writes next!

However, it was so much more. The book touches on society's issues; mental illness, abuse, inequality, influential men using power as justification for their actions. So many family secrets are revealed and unraveled with ease, laughter, and tears.

The collaboration between H.M. Ward and Melaine Bussière pièce de résistance is you cannot delineate characters however their personalities do appear, especially in the description of Graham Parker and Kienna Delacroix. Melaine Bussière first appearance as an author but not her last.....Epic, Flawless, Legendary! And as always H.M. Ward is magnificent. AJ Marks
LAST HEARTBREAK was gut wrenchingly good. Some books leave a mark after reading and Last Heartbreak did for me. I have total book hangover, because it was all the feels kind of book. This book will leave you raw at times and yet will warm the heart. I loved how H.M. Ward and Melanie Bussiere seamlessly wrote this heartbreaking, yet heartwarming love story. What I found touching was the idea that despite living under the horrible constraints of family, one can find love in the most unsuspecting places. Last Heartbreak deals with some heavy hitting themes, but don’t let that stop you because with the more serious undertones of the book, Ward and Bussiere bring in the light. I found myself in tears one moment and snort laughing in others. It’s the perfect balance. I absolutely loved how Graham isn’t the usual protagonist usually found in contemporary romance novels. He isn’t a billionaire but an extraordinary individual who despite his past, can see past Kia’s “social” status and actually see her and love her for just that. You will find yourself rooting for this very sexy, nerdy guy in a big way. Totally Team Graham Cracker!! I absolutely loved Kianna, I found myself wanting to wrap my arms around her. Kia’s story is gutting, and despite everything you will love her strength and determination. I cannot gush enough about how wonderfully written this book was. And this is an absolute wonderful debut to new author Melanie Bussiere!

Last Heartbreak is the story of Kienna, a socialite whose parents use and abuse her to get ahead and "rule" the social world. As soon as you start reading the first chapter, you'll know that she doesn't have the easiest of lives and your emotions will run rampant. It was so emotional, that I was crying by the end of the first chapter. Kienna is known in social circles as an easy lay, one who will bed any rich man that comes her way. But as the story goes, we learn how dark her home life is and the real reason why she is thought of that way.

Like a rollercoaster, Kienna has some great highs but too many devastating lows, where her life is at risk. One voice on the phone always helps her come back up from those lows but it is someone who she has never met. At the worst moment of her life, Graham crosses her path and saves her life by helping her stay positive about who she truly is and not letting wrong doings in the past, and her very own parents, ruin her life. They decide on being friends but not talk about their secrets. But once those secrets are revealed, Kienna ends up at the lowest of all lows, and once and for all, she knows that she has to take her life into her hands.

This story touches on the subjects of drugs, abuse, depression and suicide. The way Melanie and H.M. depicted these topics was done brilliantly and I don't think it could've been written any better. Congratulations to Melanie on her debut as an author and what a great way to make it than with the powerhouse that is H.M. Ward.
