For more reviews, please visit fortheloveoftheread.blogspot.comI really enjoyed reading this book. I could relate to Evie in a certain way because I am a third child who feels so much like I can't get it together. Evie tries different careers and can't seem to find the one that will work for her. She's a bit of a free spirit and is often told by her family and boyfriend to be more sensible.
Anyone who's read a Lucy Diamond book can probably guess that there will a dashing man who ends up being the romantic hero. I love this about her books. From the moment Evie meets her new guy until the time they finally get it together, the relationship is well developed. He's a bit secretive about his past, but the easy conversation and the way he treats Evie make it easy to see why she would still fall for him.
The other characters in the book are also well developed. The people who work in the cafe when Evie gets there are villainous types, and I found myself rooting for them to be booted out of the cafe. The next batch of workers are endearing, with side stories of their own that get a little development as well. Even minor characters who seem to barely play a role actually do a lot to move the story forward.
And since I'm a sucker for happy endings, I loved the way this one ended. This book doesn't necessary stand out from any other by Diamond, but it is a great example of what she does so well. If you're already a fan of hers, definitely pick this one up. If you're looking at buying one of hers for the first time, I think this one would be a great choice.

an easy read - storyline could have been a bit faster paced for me, but an enjoyable and easy read anyway
Another one of Lucy Diamond's fun quick holiday reads!
The book arrived early and in good condition, The story is cute and interesting.
This was a great book. The main character did what so many want to do, take a chance on a different kind of life. I think many people can relate to that desire and will be cheered by a story of someone who did. Are there twists and turns in the journey? Sure! But that's what kept it interesting. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that will keep their attention from beginning to end. Spot on!
Lovely book to read for a few hours. The setting on the beach is really nice and there is lots of chemistry between the main characters. Perfect chick lit escapism.
Life's beneficial changes sometimes begin as insurmountable challenges that later has you wondering what you were so anxious about once you've embraced the changing landscapes
Nicely crafted romantic comedy - with the requisite sad moments thrown in. I could see this being developed into a movie. The 'move to the country and start again after tumultuous life events' is not a new plot line, however this does have beautiful scenery, a quaint village, friends rallying around and character development to keep you reading until the end.
